Booking your 2014 Photo Sessions

As you may have guessed by the frequency of our blog posts here, our lives beyond Technicolor Vision keep Jay and I pretty busy.  While we’re still taking a limited number of standard photo session appointments this fall ($200, email inquiries(at)technicolorvision(dot)com), in an effort to make scheduling a bit easier and to offer photo sessions at different price points, we have also set aside several days of full availability for discounted photo sessions.  So here’s the deal:

  • Saturday, October 25 – 1 hour sessions in Observatory Park, $100
Sessions in fall leaves are notoriously difficult to book because there’s such a short window of time where Colorado really feels autumnal.  We’re blocking off the whole day on 10/25 to meet you in Observatory Park. Your $100 gets you a photo session with Allie or Jay that will be just under an hour long and we’ll deliver a minimum of 25 images in both color and black and white.  Sessions every hour, on the hour from 9AM to 5PM.  This date is booking up pretty quickly so please don’t wait to email us if you’re interested!  If weather doesn’t cooperate, we will still honor the $100 price at a location of our choosing and a mutually agreeable new time.

    • We will also book a number of $30, 15-minute headshot sessions on this date (individuals only, 15 minutes, 10 edited images in black and white and color).
  • Friday, November 28 and Saturday November 29 – 1 hour, in-home documentary photos, $150 (aka Tree-Trimming Sessions)
So you don’t have to trim your tree (but if you put a tree up you should put the ornaments on when we’re there, look how adorable the pictures below are), but the deal here is we’ll show up at your house and hang out with your family for a 1 hour in home/in your yard session.  $150 gets you a session with Allie or Jay that will be about an hour and deliver a minimum of 40 images in color and black and white.  We would love to see you decorate your Christmas tree, make cookies, or do some other fun family activity so we can get some documentary/candid photos of you enjoying time with the people you love.  If you’re not in to activities and you’d rather just sit on the couch in the living room and smile, we’ll do that too.  We’re taking appointments every two hours on even hours from 8AM to 2PM.  This is also your last chance to have Technicolor Vision take your holiday card photo (law school finals mean no last minute holiday card photos in 2014!)

And now, what you really wanted to see, the photos.

A look at past short sessions in Observatory Park (location for 10/25 photos). We love the mix of big trees, open spaces, historic homes, and architectural backgrounds. Perfect for maximum greatness in a quicker photo session.

And just a glimpse into how adorable your autumn leaves photos are going to be

Finally, the proof that you should absolutely decorate your tree and have us come take family photos of the memory-making

We hope you’ll shoot us an email at inquiries(at)technicolorvision(dot)com to find out more or to book. We can’t wait to spend time with you.

looking back on 2013

2013 kept us busy, to be sure. I’m embarrassed that we haven’t shared any of our work in more than 7 months, but I think we have some pretty good excuses. We settled into a new house and adopted the world’s best dog while I started law school and Jay worked as hard as ever at his day job, pulling more than a few 60+ hour weeks.

And, of course, we spent lots of time taking pictures and hanging out with friends, family, and clients.

We can’t wait to see what 2014 brings. This year, we’re looking to increase the volume of our business a bit as I settle into school.  We’re offering $150 photo sessions for returning clients and $1000 for 8 hours of wedding coverage for a limited number of 2014 weddings (this is absolutely the lowest price we will ever offer and, I have to say, it’s a steal). Finally, anyone who’s referral results in a wedding booking will get a free portrait session. So send us an email or give us a call, we’re looking forward to hanging out with you this year!

Lindy - You guys are incredible. So much heart and soul in every single photo. We can’t wait to be the ones up there!

May 1 Civil Unions

Jay and I were honored to be volunteer at the big celebration organized by One Colorado in honor of the passage of Civil Unions in Colorado. It was incredible to see the 100+ couples who came to make their unions legal and to photograph a few of the ceremonies. I look forward to a day in the near future where we can participate in a similar event celebrating full marriage equality.

This is what the line of couples waiting to get their civil union license looked like.

Our deepest gratitude to everyone who made this happen.

Meg - This is so magical. I am so excited that civil unions are now legal in this beautiful state. These photos really capture the love.

B is for Beckett – Englewood Family Portraits

It is so amazing to watch Beckett grow up.  I can’t speak for Allie, but I am always blown away by how much he learns every time I see him. And now, he has a brother or sister on the way! Allie and I spent some time with Beckett at home from the time he woke up to enjoying some early afternoon play time. And if you can’t already tell from the photos, B loves books and to have people read to him. I know he will be a bookworm early!

Tara and Peter stroll South Pearl – Englewood Wedding Photography

Allie and I had a wonderful time earlier this winter taking a nice stroll up the quaint and beautiful South Pearl.  We really enjoyed getting to know Tara and Peter and finding out all about their wedding this summer. These two are clearly perfect for each other, and we can’t wait to celebrate their special day with them this summer, we know it will be a blast!
